Chatuchak Weekend Market Food Section

About

With over 15,000 stalls covering 35 acres, Chatuchak Weekend Market is one of the world's largest markets — and its food section alone could occupy a full day. Open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 6pm, the market's food offerings span every corner of Thailand's regional cuisines.

Section 26 and surrounding areas are dedicated entirely to food vendors. Look for: boat noodles in tiny portions meant to be eaten in multiples; khao man gai (poached chicken rice) at the famous Kaidee stand; fresh coconut ice cream served in coconut shells; various grilled meats on skewers; and thick papaya salads from Isaan vendors. The covered food courts provide some respite from the heat. Arrive when the market opens at 9am before temperatures climb beyond comfortable.
